Anatolia is the true cradle of civilisation from whence we emerged. It is time for a home-coming, for orientation and direction, only possible by connecting with our primordial roots.

Our home for this inner and outer exploration will be Sanliufra, an ancient city of the prophets. From there we will travel by private bus to the sacred sites in and around the age-old city. Paul will offer talks. Yücel will be our trusted cultural guide.

As much as it is currently allowed, we will visit the sites of: Gürcütepe, Kurttepesi, Taşlıtepe, Sefertepe, Ayanlar, Yoğunburç, Sayburç, Çakmaktepe and Yenimahalle.

Our hotel (Elci Konagi Butik Hotel) for our sacred sojourn is a converted, 400 year old, Armenian monastery. It is now enchanting, now modernised, boutique hotel in the heart of Sanliurfa, in the heart of the City of the Prophets.

Cost: 2899,00 (shared double room), 250,00 Single room surcharge.

Included: Cultural seminar with Paul, travel guidance with Yücel. 8 nights in a hotel with evening meals included. Entrance fee to all sites. Local transfer in a private coach.

Not included: Flights to Sanliurfa GAP Airport (GNY), transfer from and to airport, meals during the day, and tips.

Paul Skorpen Explorer and Cultural Guide

Paul Skorpen (b. 1961in USA) lives in Germany and is the founder of the Theosis Institute of Teachings and Travel. After a 6 year intensive training, on the island of Cyprus, from the great Christian mystic and healer, Daskalos, he moved to Munich. For over 25 years Paul has been teaching and leading explorations all through Europe and the USA. The Theosis Institute offers seminar travels to the Holy Land, Patmos, Egypt and Anatolia. We have produced three films, in the German language, of the lost Gospels of Thomas, Maria Magdalena, and Philip (free to view on Youtube).

Yücel Temirodaman Cultural and Historical Guide

Yücel Temirodaman was born in 1969 in Pforzheim, on the edge of the beautiful Black Forest. After graduating from school (Abitur) in Germany, his parents returned back to Turkey; to the beautiful Aegean, to Izmir. For his studies in his home country, he had to complete the final class at the Lyceum in Izmir. During his course at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Ankara, he did an apprenticeship with state exam as a tour guide (1991). Actively he entered into the tourism industry only in 1994 and accompany German-speaking and English-speaking guests on round trips and day trips through its beautiful and mythical country. The challenge of visiting historical and magical places with guests always awakens his passion and gratitude for his work.

PRICE PER PERSON INCLUDES

All transportation to and from sites in private in an air-conditioned coach. All entrance fees to museums and sites on tour schedule. All hotel accommodation in middle class/boutique hotels. All breakfasts and at least one other meal per day, either lunch or dinner. Full-time guidance with a certified Turkish tour guide.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?
Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.
How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?
On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.
What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?
The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.
What about battery charging and host shower facilities?
Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.
Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?
No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.
